About Us

With a love of timber and crafting it, a hobby became a business when Rescue Timber was created in Richmond, and Tharren was able to reclaim beautifully aged timber from Melbourne's ever-growing demolished churches and halls and turn it into beautifully crafted pieces of furniture. Years later, Rescue Timber was sold and Tharren travelled around Australia, picking up work in cabinet making and carpentry which took advantage of his detail to finishes. He eventually settled in Agnes Water, where he spent 20 years crafting his carpentry and building skills, working on everything from architecturally designed homes to simple outdoor living spaces. In 2019 Well Built Homes relocated to Highgate Hill, where you will now find Tharren and Billy on the job site.
